Alexandros Porfyris


For Alexandros, it all started 11 years ago in the little village of Benitses on the Greek island of Corfu. Starting out as a waiter, it didn’t take him long to realise that all he wanted was to get in the kitchen – that cauldron of adrenaline and culinary magic. Using his new found passion, he worked 5 jobs – day and night – and saved up all of his wages to attend one of the most exclusive cooking colleges in Athens.

Since then, Alexandros has never looked back. From the prestigious Lycabettus Boutique Hotel, at the age of 18 he competed on the television cooking competition “Masterchef” in Greece and finished in 10th place, with an array of job offers flooding in. Crete Elounda Mare Relais & Chateaux gave him the push he needed to move to Malta and work as a Sous Chef – developing his skills and the passion for his art.

London was calling shortly thereafter, and this brought him to Mayfair and the Dukes Boutique Hotel. From there, he advanced to running his own kitchen, as Head Chef of independently-run Papillon Brasserie in Bromley, Kent. But now, seeking greater challenges and prestige, Alexandros is now establishing himself at the well-known Little Bay restaurant in Battersea.

Great Atmosphere!

Our restaurant has a unique atmosphere which our patrons love. Instead of just having tables and chairs, we have booths and balconies which fire up the imagination and are adored by couples looking for candle-lit dining in a romantic setting.
